What is the SOS Approach?
Sequential: Children learn to eat by following a developmental step-by-step hierarchy, moving from tolerating food in the room to looking, smelling, touching, tasting, and finally chewing and swallowing.
Oral: The program builds oral-motor skills and mouth comfort using real food rather than toys or tools.
Sensory: It addresses how a child processes the sensory properties of food, such as texture, temperature, smell, and color.
“Save Our Ship”: Clinicians also use this playful acronym to describe how overwhelmed parents feel when dealing with extreme picky eating or feeding disorders.

Every Little Blessing Preschool (ELB) is competing in the City Bank Community Rewards program to win funding that supports our inclusive classrooms. The more votes we receive, the greater our chance of success—and everyone can vote once per day.
