Extra, Extra, Read All About It!
Extra, Extra, Read All About It!

October was a busy month for ELB. We are thankful for the new faces and getting to share about our mission at different community events like the Buddy Walk, Rollin Smoke Car show, the Care for Kids grand opening trunk’o’treat, the UMC Art for the Heart and Cowboys and Petticoats. We have given several tours and welcomed new families to our school. We shined brightly during our formal, and final, observation for accreditation with Cognia. This has been a two year process and we are proud with the feedback we received and the best compliment - “I would send my child here, you guys are amazing!” ~ Suzette, Cognia Regional Accreditation Evaluator. Giving Day brought in over $7K and we received all of our matching funds! Thank you to all of our supporters - funds like these help us to purchase materials for extra activities and hands-on learning. Our staff, students, and parents had a great time at La Nube this past week. Many thanks to Dr. John and Lyn McKee for providing all of our tickets to the Desert Bloomers field trip. Did you know that La Nube is in the running for - 2025 International Association of Children in Museums Award? La Nube is the sole U.S. institution to be named a finalist! We are so lucky that we have one of the best children’s museums right here in the 915! We gave out 3 new AAC devices, thanks to the grant provided by Mt. Franklin Kiwanis. The families are so thankful for the chance to communicate with their kids in a new and meaningful way. We are excited for our next group to begin using devices soon. You can help support this program with your donation so we can always have a device ready.
